Phil and Sarah Walsh were married in 1999. As the emcee at the
wedding, Mike Walter noticed Phil as an outgoing guy who loved
to dance. During a brief conversation, Phil told Mike that
he's a physical education teacher for the Toms
River School District. Mike's wheels began to spin. He
told Phil, "You've got the raw talent to be a great DJ,
let me know if you're interested." Well, it wasn't long
after he returned from his honeymoon that Phil found himself
mowing lawns on the weekends for a little extra cash. Mike's
words echoed in his head though and soon enough he picked
up the phone and called Elite. His first question to Mike
was, "Were you serious?"
Since
then, Phil has become an unbelievable addition to the Elite
staff. He has a smooth yet energetic voice and his dance moves
are the envy of everyone in the company this side of Corey
Fox. And while he aspires to be one of the best wedding DJs
in the area, Phil is also finding a niche at younger parties.
Indeed his "day job" which finds him instructing
hundreds of 12 and 13 year olds keeps him well in touch with
the musical tastes of that generation.
Befitting a gym teacher, Phil is one of the more active and
athletic members of our staff. He has even begun helping Mike's
golf game. Returning the favor of Mike teaching him everything
there is to know about the DJ business, Phil is determined
to help Mike break 100. No one here is holding their breath!
We are all proud of Phil's elevation through the ranks of
Elite and while his weekends aren't spent mowing other people's
grass anymore, Phil's home in Forked River definitely has
the greenest lawn on the block.
